Italy star’s release clause tempts Milan
Italy international Lorenzo Pellegrini is one of AC Milan’s summer transfer targets. The Roma midfielder is available for a bargain figure.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – After the departure of Bertolacci, Jose Mauri, Montolivo and Bakayoko, the only available central midfielders for Giampaolo are Franck Kessie and Lucas Biglia, plus the adaptable Giacomo Bonaventura. That’s why the midfield department is a priority for Maldini and Boban.
So far, AC Milan have purchased Rade Krunic for €8 million euros from Empoli. The Bosnia international is an attacking-minded player that can contribute a lot in the offensive maneuver of the squad. However, AC Milan still need to sign perhaps three other players and Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini is one of transfer targets of the Rossoneri.
The Red and Black are simultaneously negotiating with Sensi, Barella and Veretout. Arsenal’s star Lucas Torreira is deemed too expensive and Milan would prefer to keep Kessie rather than sell him to fund a move for another midfielder. That’s why Pellegrini could be this summer’s surprise.
Tuttosport confirms that the 22-year-old Italy international is an option for the Rossoneri. Furthermore, his release clause is of “just” €30 million is very tempting for AC Milan because it can be paid in two installments of 15 million each without weighting a lot on the transfer budget this summer. Considering today’s inflated market prices and the huge potential of the player that figure would be a real bargain.
Despite his young age, Lorenzo Pellegrini is one of the best midfielders in Italy. The former Sassuolo has made over 120 appearances in Serie A and has been capped 10 times by Italy. Pellegrini is currently playing in the European U-21 championship where the Azzurri debuted with a spectacular 3-1 win against Spain. Pellegrini scored the third goal.
